A PLACE TO WIN
Documentary experiment on ways to reconstruct living spaces inhabited only by winners through the genesis of lottery houses. How can the past speak through a building and how many threads there are still connecting it to the history of its early days, while another 50 years have imposed other events on top of those? There is one thing in common in all the people recounting their stories in the film: all of them have won condominiums at the much fashionable lottery prize sweepstakes between 1958 and 1968.

LIFE, A LONG WAY AWAY
Barroso is an isolated region of Portugal where people live at the rhythm of the herds and the seasons. There, one can witness an ancestral way of life which will probably not last. Everyone knows it is the end of it soon and secretely draws the meshes of sparse memories. The memory resists, the setting serves as a mirror. In reminding us what we used to be, it also reflects what have become.

karin hammer_48min_ARMENIA / AUSTRIA_2011
”In 2010 I was living in Armenia for a couple of months. I lived together with a family in a tiny appartment – 4 generations under one roof. Something very usual in Armenia. So from a very close distance I was able to watch their everyday life. I was surprised what a huge impact Armenia’s history had on everybody´s everyday life. After some time I started to film and talk to people I met and asked them about their lives, their wishes, dreams and hopes...”
